Cross-Strait Middle School Students Coming to Jingzhou via “Visiting and Reading the Three Kingdoms” to Experience Chinese Traditional Culture

To read great books and do great travels.To experience excellent Chinese traditional culture will start from childhood.On July 8th, campers of the third Session Cross-Strait Middle School Students “Visiting and Reading the Three Kingdoms” Camp in 2018 came toJingzhou to visit Jingzhou Museum and tour historical sites including ancientcity wall and Guanyu Shrine. They read history via visiting these historicalsites with stories of Three Kingdoms.

When campers came to the most important stop of their trip in Jingzhou, Guanyu Shrine, it rained heavily in the sky. They knew the life of Gungyu by visitingthe Shrine in the rain, which gave them unforgettable moments.

Guanyu Shrine is located at the South Inner Ring of South Gate of Jingzhou Ancient City. It is introduced that, inthe early years of the Ming dynasty, Jingzhou people built Guanyu Shrine tomemorize him at Mt. Xiejia and taught their later generations “to read good books,say kind words, do good things, and be a good man” by following the spirit of Guanyu’s loyalty, righteousness, benevolence, and bravery. The original site of Guanyu at Mt. Xiejia was destroyed by the Japanese invasion of China. It wasre-built at the original site with the approval of State Administration of Cultural Heritage and Hubei Provincial People’s Government. Campers visitedaround and found their own points of interest when listening to the introduction.Reporter found that many boy students were fond of Guanyu’s Green Dragon Crescent Blade.

During the period of this activity, campers were organized into three groups, Wei, Shu, and Wu.They completed the mission of finding out task kits through clueswhen touring the scenic spots.

When the trip of Guanyu Shrine was over, they found all kits. Although the trip wasshort, they had a brand new understanding of Jingzhou, the history of Three Kingdoms, and Guanyu.
